Ahmed has extensive experience in international commercial and investment arbitration, obtained through working in leading top tier firms in Egypt. His expertise revolves around international dispute resolution with focus on commercial arbitration. In addition to his contentious experience, Ahmed has practiced intensively in other areas including general corporate, commercial and regulatory, and employment.

Representative Experience:

  • Ahmed has been practicing for over ten years and advises and represents investors and individuals in international arbitration disputes, as well as private international law disputes.
  • Ahmed advised clients in high-profile, multi-million dollar, arbitrations before ICSID, ICC, CRCICA, DIAC and under the UNCITRAL rules. The arbitrations he handles covers a wide variety of fields including, telecommunication, oil and gas, capital markets, construction, tenders, M&As, and medical laboratories.
  • Ahmed also advised clients on a spectrum of commercial and regulatory issues, as well as employment issues, in particular in the e-commerce sector.

Lectures & Presentations:

  • Ahmed is a visiting lecturer at the International Business Law Institute (“IDAI”), a consortium between University of Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) and Cairo University. He teaches general regime of obligations and torts for undergraduate students.
  • He also teaches the introduction to contracts and commercial law to undergraduate students at the Faculty of Commerce (French Department) at Ain-Shams University.

Education:

  • Ahmed holds a Master’s degree (DEA) in International Economic Law, University of Paris I (Pantheon-Sorbonne) and Master’s degree (DEA) in International and European Business Law, International Business Law Institute, University of Paris I - (Pantheon-Sorbonne), as well as a Maitrise en Droit in International Business Law from Paris I - Pantheon Sorbonne University.
  • LLB from Cairo University.
  • Contractual & Legal Aspects in the Construction Industry Certificate (CLAC 30).
